Murray Ayson - New Zealand Landscape Artist

Murray's work has been inspired primarily by the light and shadow of the New Zealand landscape. His love of the outdoors and the rugged natural beauty of the South Island countryside has drawn him to many untouched areas of Fiordland, the Catlins in southern Otago, and Central Otago.

Nothing inspires Murray more to paint than simply being amongst the bush, lakes and mountains.   If it takes a pair of boots, a 4WD vehicle or even a helicopter to access places of interest, then this is part of the painting process toward Murray's completed image.

Using Italian Maimeri artist oils on high grade Fredrix artist canvas made in the USA, Murray prefers to to paint detailed works unhurried in his studio.   All of his orignal oil paintings come with a signed and dated Certificate of Authenticity and can be posted worldwide.

His artworks are not limited to the southern South Island but also depict scenes of places further afield.
